About Sharon Williams, PhD

Sharon R Williams is an Anthropologist with a research and policy background in global health an aging and broad expertise in policy research.  Currently a senior research staff member at the IDA Science and Technology Policy Institute (STPI), her policy work has touched on topics such as evaluating human health risks associated with space travel, improving the STEM research environment, using social science methods to improve policy, and understanding biological and social factors that influence health disparities.  At STPI she also served as director of the Science and Technology Policy Fellowship and is passionate about creating opportunities for students interested in Science and Technology Policy. 

Dr. Williams holds a BS in Molecular Genetics and a PhD in Anthropology from the Ohio State University.
