About Mark “Shep” Shepardson

Mark “Shep” Shepardson is a Digital Leader, Visionary and Technology Strategist developing innovative approaches to U.S. Department of Defense and Intelligence Community missions enabling the U.S. Government to capitalize on commercial modernizations and investments.

Shep has an extensive career supporting the U.S. Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and international partner portfolios.  Shep designed a next-generation on-board processing architecture that is used in satellites on orbit today, architected an initiative that was directly responsible for saving coalition lives in Afghan and Iraqi theaters, and was termed “a National Asset” by the former Director of National Intelligence.  His software designs have been deployed to aircraft, ships, spacecraft, ground vehicles, and on cloud platforms.  Shep has held technical leadership roles with defense technology companies including the Chief Technology Officer at Parry Labs, Director of Intelligence Capture at Palantir, Director of Digital Transformation Strategy, Chief Software Architect, and Chief Architect of Space Sensors at Northrop Grumman.  Shep currently is the owner of IgWrx, which is a technical strategy consultancy supporting the Space Development Agency (SDA), cyber defense in space, and others.

Shep holds a M.S. in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University and B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota.
